Substitute teachers are needed year-round in all disciplines. If you hold at least a two-year degree and are interested in substitute teaching at GESD, please contact the Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES Substitute Service at 518-736-4390 for an application form and answers to any questions you might have.

Support Staff: Applications for some support staff substitute positions are accepted year-round. Being a substitute is a good way to try out a job and gain experience. For more information, contact the Superintendent’s Office at 518-775-5791.

Bus Drivers: Drivers are needed year-round. A high school diploma and a clean Class B license with P&S endorsements are required. Drivers must pass fingerprint clearance. Substitute Bus Monitors are also needed. For more information, call Terry Kersting at the Transportation Department directly at 518-775-5788.

Cleaners: Substitutes are needed for cleaner positions with shifts beginning in the afternoon and into the evening. Positions are available in all buildings. For more information, contact Buildings & Grounds at 518-775-5781.

Food service workers/substitute food service workers: Hourly food service workers and substitute food service workers are needed in Gloversville schools. Shifts vary between 4-5 hours per day. Previous food service experience is desirable. Must be able to follow oral and written directions. For more information, contact Food Service Director Greg Nalewjka at 518-775-5700 ext.9708.

Nurses: Substitute registered nurses are needed in all schools. New York license is required.
